I started this blog after realizing I love interior design. I find it relaxing, rewarding, and I have the ability to use my creative skills. I've always loved putting together rooms even as a child. I remember when my mother would do volunteer work at a thrift shop in her local community and she would take me with her. And where did I end up? I would head right to the furniture section and put together rooms with the furniture that was for sale. Maybe it sold better or not? But I enjoyed it! (I think I was only 9 or 10 years old at the time.)

And here I am as an adult, still doing furniture arrangements, color combinations, and working with what I had before me. And more importantly, always looking for a bargain.

I love DIY as well. I actually used to buy furniture from garage sales in order to flip the pieces. It was so fun! I used chalk paint when all you could buy was Annie Sloan paints. Now, there are so many different kinds I lost track. I would reupholster as well which is why I became so interested in learning about Home Decor Fabrics. I studied fabrics through an interior designer. She taught me how fabrics are made with all the different weaves to the actual durability of each type of fabric. This helped me to understand where each type of fabric was best used for such as draperies, sofas, chairs, pillows, etc.

So there you have it! I'm branching into the unknown but it was like when I was little and I would go into the furniture room at the thrift shop. So many different pieces of furniture every week but I put together rooms.

I hope it will inspire you as much as I've been inspired over the years! l
